Barrel plating is where the workpiece is electroplated in the barrel. The biggest difference between it and hang-plated parts is the use of a roller, which allows the workpiece to be plated during continuous tumbling. The barrel is generally hexagonal and placed horizontally. One side of the barrel is open, and the workpiece is loaded into the drum from the opening during electroplating.

Roller materials include PP board, mesh board, acrylic board, stainless steel board, etc. During electroplating, the current is conducted between the workpiece and the anode. The renewal of the solution inside and outside the barrel and exhaust gas all pass through small holes. The cathode conductive device of the barrel is designed with copper wire or copper rod, which is naturally connected with the cathode conductive device under the gravity of the workpiece in the barrel.

The efficiency of barrel plating production and the quality of the coating are all related to the roller structure, size, speed, conduction mode, opening rate and other factors. Therefore, barrels are customized according to the different needs of various customers.
